A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 12-37-220, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS, SO AS TO EXEMPT FROM PROPERTY TAX ONE PERSONAL MOTOR VEHICLE OWNED OR LEASED BY THE CAREGIVER OF A MENTALLY RETARDED PERSON OR PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED PERSON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS USED TO TRANSPORT THE MENTALLY RETARDED OR PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED PERSON, TO REQUIRE THAT THE INDIVIDUAL TRANSPORTED MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO BE CLAIMED AS A DEPENDENT ON FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURNS FILED BY THE CAREGIVER, AND TO DEFINE "HANDICAPPED" AND "MENTALLY RETARDED".
