    A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-11-490 SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR NOTICE TO A SOUTH CAROLINA RESIDENT WHOSE PERSONAL IDENTIFYING INFORMATION MAY HAVE BEEN ACCESSED THROUGH A BREACH OF THE SECURITY OF COMPUTERIZED DATA OWNED, LICENSED, OR OTHERWISE CONTROLLED BY A STATE AGENCY, TO PROVIDE DEFINITIONS, TO SPECIFY REQUIREMENTS OF THE NOTICE, AND TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR NONCOMPLIANCE; AND BY ADDING SECTION 39-1-90 SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR NOTICE TO A SOUTH CAROLINA RESIDENT WHOSE PERSONAL IDENTIFYING INFORMATION MAY HAVE BEEN ACCESSED THROUGH A BREACH OF THE SECURITY OF COMPUTERIZED DATA OWNED, LICENSED, OR OTHERWISE CONTROLLED BY A PERSON CONDUCTING BUSINESS IN THIS STATE, TO PROVIDE DEFINITIONS, TO SPECIFY REQUIREMENTS OF THE NOTICE, AND TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR NONCOMPLIANCE.
