A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO DIRECT THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO UNDERTAKE AN IMMEDIATE INQUIRY AS TO WHETHER OR NOT UNDER ARTICLE XV, SECTION 1, OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THIS STATE, THE COMPTROLLER GENERAL OF SOUTH CAROLINA, RICHARD A. ECKSTROM, SHOULD BE IMPEACHED FOR SERIOUS MISCONDUCT IN OFFICE INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DERELICTION OF DUTY AND BREACH OF THE PUBLIC TRUST AND, IF BY CLEAR AND CONVINCING EVIDENCE SUFFICIENT GROUNDS ARE FOUND, TO REPORT ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT TO THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

to direct the judiciary committee of the house of
representatives to undertake an immediate inquiry as to whether or not under
article XV, section 1, of the constitution of this state, the comptroller
general of south carolina, richard A. eckstrom, should be impeached for serious
misconduct in office including, but not limited to, dereliction of duty and
breach of the public trust and, if by clear and convincing evidence sufficient
grounds are found, to report articles of impeachment to the floor of the house
of representatives.
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the Judiciary
Committee of the House of Representatives is directed to undertake an immediate
inquiry as to whether or not under Article XV, Section 1, of the Constitution
of this State, the Comptroller General of South Carolina, Richard A. Eckstrom,
should be impeached for serious misconduct in office including, but not limited
to, dereliction of duty and breach of the public trust and, if by clear and
convincing evidence sufficient grounds are found, to report articles of
impeachment to the floor of the House of Representatives.
