 ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY, AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS
 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MANY MORE YEARS OF HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

TO CONGRATULATE MRS. CORNELIA SPEARS, OF FLORENCE COUNTY, ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY, AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MANY MORE YEARS OF HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are delighted to learn that Mrs. Cornelia Spears will celebrate her one hundredth birthday on May 24, 2007; and

Whereas, Cornelia Spears was born on May 24, 1907, in Florence County, just after the dawn of the twentieth century, and as that century and the beginnings of the twenty-first century have brought incredible changes and developments to this nation, Mrs. Spears has been there to witness nearly all of them; and

Whereas, the mother of ten children, this delightful matriarch is known for her kind spirit and grace; and

Whereas, a humble servant of Christ who puts her faith and trust in the Lord, Mrs. Spears is a charter member of Spring Branch Baptist Church in Pamplico, where she is recognized as the "mother" of the church and where in previous years she played the piano and sang; and

Whereas, Cornelia Spears is still vitally interested in life and even now attends services at her church on a regular basis; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is proud to honor this truly lovely lady at the celebration of her centennial birthday and joins with her family and friends in congratulating her on reaching this extraordinary milestone. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Mrs. Cornelia Spears, of Florence County, on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday, and wish her a joyous birthday celebration and many more years of health and happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Cornelia Spears.
