A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO DISAPPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL, RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION FEES, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 4139, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The regulations of the Department of Health and Environmental Control, relating to Environmental Protection Fees, designated as Regulation Document Number 4139, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are disapproved.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

These regulations will amend R.61-30 to adjust the Safe Drinking Water Act fee structure to ensure adequate funds are available to cover costs associated with new federal drinking water regulations. The regulations will allow the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (Department) to continue to provide monitoring and compliance services for recently promulgated federal drinking water regulations.
