A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING OAKBROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN LADSON, DORCHESTER COUNTY, ON BEING NAMED AS ONE OF "AMERICA'S BEST" SCHOOLS RECENTLY IN REDBOOK MAGAZINE.

Whereas, Oakbrook Elementary School in Ladson, Dorchester County School District 2, recently was named as one of "America's Best" schools in Redbook magazine; and

Whereas, the April 1993, issue of the magazine listed six South Carolina schools among the 177 chosen for the honor nationwide, and Oakbrook was named "Best of State, excelling in many categories"; and

Whereas, Oakbrook's selection is a tremendous honor not just for the citizens of Dorchester County but for all South Carolinians and reflects the strides made in public education in recent years; and

Whereas, the General Assembly is delighted to have this opportunity to give special recognition to Oakbrook Elementary School and its students, teachers, and staff for their excellent work, dedication, and accomplishments. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Oakbrook Elementary School in Ladson, Dorchester County, on being named as one of "America's Best" schools recently in Redbook magazine.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Oakbrook Elementary School in Ladson.
