of his accomplishments, awards, and efforts in promoting environmental
awareness in South Carolina.

A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE MARION T.
BURNSIDE, CHAIRMAN OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES BOARD, FOR
ALL OF HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS, AWARDS, AND EFFORTS
IN PROMOTING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS IN SOUTH
CAROLINA.
Whereas, Marion T. Burnside was appointed to the South Carolina
Wildlife and Marine Resources Commission in 1988 and has served
as chairman since his appointment; and
Whereas, after state government reorganization, he was reappointed
as Chairman of the South Carolina Department of Natural
Resources Board; and
Whereas, Mr. Burnside has been instrumental in the formation of
several organizations concerned with conservation and natural
resources, including the Quality Deer Management Association and
the South Carolina Sportsmen's Coalition; and
Whereas, Mr. Burnside has been recognized by conservation
organizations such as Quail Unlimited and Ducks Unlimited for his
work and interest in conserving the state's natural resources; and
Whereas, Marion T. Burnside was awarded the South Carolina
Environmental Awareness Award for 1995. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution,
commend and congratulate Marion T. Burnside, Chairman of the
South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Board, for all of
his accomplishments, awards, and efforts in promoting
environmental awareness in South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the family of Marion T. Burnside.
