SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO THE FAMILY OF MR. GEORGE W. BRELSFORD V OF AIKEN WHO
DIED DURING THE LEGISLATIVE INTERIM.

A SENATE RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS
OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO THE FAMILY OF MR.
GEORGE W. BRELSFORD V OF AIKEN WHO DIED DURING
THE LEGISLATIVE INTERIM.
Whereas, the members of the Senate were deeply saddened to learn
of the death of Mr. George W. Brelsford V of Aiken who died during
the legislative interim on December 12, 1996; and
Whereas, Mr. Brelsford was a native of Bridgeton, New Jersey, and
was a retired personnel director of Owens-Corning Fiberglas; and
Whereas, he served his community and State in a number of ways.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aiken, a former
public relations chairman, campaign chairman, and president of the
Aiken County United Way; a past president of the Aiken Lions Club,
a charter member and past president of the Aiken Kiwanis Club, a
past chairman of the Aiken County Commission for Disabilities and
Special Needs; and served for many years on the South Carolina
Heart Board; and
Whereas, one of Mr. Brelsford's favorite pasttimes was golf and in
addition to playing this enjoyable sport, he was a past president of the
Palmetto Golf Club, and an honorary member of the Palmetto Golf
Club Board of Governors; and
Whereas, he was above all a devoted husband to his lovely wife,
Patricia, and a good father to his five children; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like
to express their deepest sympathy to his widow, children, other
family members, and friends upon the death of this truly fine man.
Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate express their deepest
sympathy to the family of Mr. George W. Brelsford V of Aiken who
died during the legislative interim.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
his widow, Mrs. Patricia Murphy Brelsford.
