H. 5199

A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR JACK DRAWDY FOR TWENTY-TWO YEARS OF SERVING THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH CAROLINA AS A BAIL BONDSMAN, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Jack Drawdy has served the citizens of this fine State as a bail bondsman for twenty-two years; and

Whereas, born in Charleston on June 27, 1954, Jack Drawdy grew up in Beaufort County where he learned crabbing from his father, and by the age of fifteen, he was employed full time pulling crab pots and driving the delivery truck for his father's crabbing business; and

Whereas, in 1974, Jack Drawdy's recovery of a close friend who had been abducted inspired him to pursue a career as a bounty hunter; and

Whereas, by 1986, he entered the bail bonds business with Al Holcomb and has since achieved icon status through his successful work with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies all over the country; and

Whereas, a compassionate person, Jack Drawdy has never allowed someone he has arrested to enter the jail without some money from his own pocket for the canteen; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the years of service that Jack Drawdy has provided for the State of South Carolina and are pleased to know that he will enjoy a much-deserved retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Jack Drawdy for twenty-two years of serving the citizens of South Carolina as a bail bondsman, and wish him much success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jack Drawdy.
