H*4260 Resolution, By Hawkins
A HOUSE RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING WILSON CASEY OF SPARTANBURG ON BECOMING THE
HOLDER OF TWO GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.

06/22/99 House Introduced and adopted HJ-24

A HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING WILSON CASEY OF SPARTANBURG ON BECOMING THE HOLDER OF TWO GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.

Whereas, Spartanburg's Wilson Casey, known as "Trivia Guy", finished a marathon radioNext broadcast recently at 6:00 on a Sunday morning after thirty hours on the air at a Spartanburg PreviousradioNext station; and

Whereas, following this feat, Mr. Casey is to be entered in The Guinness Book of World Records for the longest PreviousradioNext broadcast by an individual and for the longest trivia broadcast, making him the only South Carolinian to appear in the book; and

Whereas, Mr. Casey has stated that he could not have accomplished all this without the help of what he refers to as "The Trivia Family"; he estimated that about 250 people stopped by the Previousradio station when he was on the air to voice their support during the record-setting broadcast; he has also indicated that listeners kept him busy; and

Whereas, all South Carolinians should be proud of Wilson Casey's accomplishments; this is a great honor not only for Mr. Casey but also for the Palmetto State, and we are delighted to have this opportunity to recognize him in this special way. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulates Wilson Casey of Spartanburg on becoming the holder of two Guinness world records.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Casey.
