chosen as Ms. Senior South Carolina and to wish her well as she competes for
the national title in April in Atlantic City.

A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE MRS. MARY HAMBY OF EASLEY UPON
BEING CHOSEN AS MS. SENIOR SOUTH CAROLINA AND TO
WISH HER WELL AS SHE COMPETES FOR THE NATIONAL
TITLE IN APRIL IN ATLANTIC CITY.
Whereas, Mrs. Mary Hamby of Easley has been chosen as Ms. Senior
South Carolina; and
Whereas, Mrs. Hamby represented the Easley Seniors Unlimited at the
contest held in Rock Hill; and
Whereas, Mrs. Hamby impressed a panel of five judges who selected her
from a field of eleven women who competed for the title and the chance
to participate in the national Ms. Senior America Pageant in April in
Atlantic City; and
Whereas, Mrs. Hamby took second place honors in the state contest last
year after winning the Ms. Pickens County Senior title; and
Whereas, the new queen's mother, Myrtis Hydrick, won the title of Ms.
Pickens County Senior during its first year and took second place honors
in the state competition; and
Whereas, Mrs. Hamby is retired from Southern Bell and lives in Easley
with her husband, Ray. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Mrs. Mary
Hamby of Easley upon being chosen as Ms. Senior South Carolina and
wish her well as she competes for the national title in April in Atlantic
City.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs.
Hamby.
