A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
COMMENDING EVELYN S. OSWALD OF LEXINGTON COUNTY
FOR HER MANY YEARS OF DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE STATE
OF SOUTH CAROLINA AND WISHING HER HAPPINESS IN HER
RETIREMENT.
Whereas, Evelyn S. Oswald of Lexington County retired on June 28,
1991, from the South Carolina Department of Highways and Public
Transportation as administrative assistant to the department's executive
director after thirty-three and one-half years of state service; and
Whereas, Mrs. Oswald served with seven chief executives, working
directly for six of them; and
Whereas, as a state employee she exemplified the best qualities of state
service: intelligence, devotion to duty, friendliness, ability, and a deep
sense of concern for the welfare and success of the State and the State's
citizens; and
Whereas, her outstanding abilities and thoroughly sweet nature will be
greatly missed, but she has earned her retirement and we, the members
of the General Assembly, trust that her retirement will be a happy and
enjoyable one. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, commends Evelyn S. Oswald of Lexington County for her
many years of devoted service to the State of South Carolina and wishes
her happiness in her retirement.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs.
Oswald.
