A Senate Resolution commending Mr. T. M. Cook of Fairfield County for his
thirty-five years of outstanding devotion to education and wishing him
happiness in his retirement.

A SENATE RESOLUTION
COMMENDING MR. T.M. COOK OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY FOR
HIS THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OF OUTSTANDING DEVOTION TO
EDUCATION AND WISHING HIM HAPPINESS IN HIS
RETIREMENT.
Whereas, Mr. T.M. Cook of Fairfield County has devoted thirty-five
years of his life to educating the children of South Carolina; and
Whereas, in March of 1957, he began his teaching career at Webber
School in Eastover in Richland County, and, in September of that year,
he returned to Fairfield County to become a teaching principal at
Woodard Elementary School; and
Whereas, in 1965, Mr. Cook became principal of Geiger Elementary
School in Ridgeway; and
Whereas, he has been active in numerous professional and civic
organizations and has served on the Fairfield County Council and the
Fairfield County Substance Abuse Commission; and
Whereas, he also has been a Sunday School Superintendent at New
Hope A.M.E. Church, was a magistrate in the Greenbrier Community,
and served in the United States Army for two years; and
Whereas, he is an outstanding individual who has always given freely
of his time, talents, and energy and is a gentleman who is greatly
respected and admired by all who know him; and
Whereas, his professional career in education has consistently been
marked by the highest ideals and he has set many excellent examples for
other South Carolina educators to follow; and
Whereas, he is retiring from a long and distinguished career in education
this year and is greatly deserving of commendation and recognition.
Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution,
commends Mr. T.M. Cook of Fairfield County for his thirty-five years
of outstanding devotion to education and wishes him much happiness in
his retirement.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr.
Cook.
