A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
COMMENDING AND THANKING CHIEF BOBBY KIMBRELL FOR
HIS EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND AS
CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE TOWN OF FORT MILL, AND
WISHING HIM SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS FOLLOWING HIS
RETIREMENT.
Whereas, Chief Bobby Kimbrell, the Chief of Police of the Town of Fort
Mill, has rendered thirty-four years of distinguished service to law
enforcement; and
Whereas, Chief Kimbrell has been the town's police chief for seventeen
years; he started his law enforcement career at the Fort Mill Police
Department in 1959 and was promoted to lieutenant in 1962; he
accepted a position at the York County Sheriff's Department in 1968 and
was promoted to lieutenant in 1972; he was transferred to the detective
division, and, in 1977, he accepted the top job at the Fort Mill Police
Department; and
Whereas, Chief Kimbrell was chosen to receive the "Citizen of the
Year" award for 1994 by the Fort Mill Chamber of Commerce for
his service to the community; and
Whereas, he has had a distinguished law enforcement career and has
been an outstanding chief of police for Fort Mill; and
Whereas, he has announced his retirement on June 30, 1994. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South
Carolina, by this resolution, commend and thank Chief Bobby Kimbrell
for his exemplary service to law enforcement and as Chief of Police of
the Town of Fort Mill and wish him success and happiness following his
retirement.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Chief
Kimbrell.
