A Concurrent Resolution commending the Reverend Joseph W. Alley, Pastor of
College Place United Methodist Church in Columbia, for his dedication to his
church members and for his contributions to a better way of life in the
Capital City, and extending best wishes to him for happiness and success in
his new assignment.

A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
COMMENDING THE REVEREND JOSEPH W. ALLEY,
PASTER OF COLLEGE PLACE UNITED METHODIST
CHURCH IN COLUMBIA, FOR HIS DEDICATION TO HIS
CHURCH MEMBERS AND FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO A
BETTER WAY OF LIFE IN THE CAPITAL CITY, AND
EXTENDING BEST WISHES TO HIM FOR HAPPINESS AND
SUCCESS IN HIS NEW ASSIGNMENT.
Whereas, the Reverend Joseph W. Alley has for the past ten years
served as pastor of College Place United Methodist Church in
Columbia; and
Whereas, he has also ministered at Trinity United Methodist Church
in West Columbia over the last decade; and
Whereas, he is an outstanding minister of the Gospel and has
tended his flock spiritually in the most excellent manner; and
Whereas, Joe Alley is well-known and highly respected and
admired by many people, including countless individuals who are
not members of his church or of his denomination; and
Whereas, Joe Alley has worked ceaselessly for the improvement of
race relations in the Columbia area, has fostered the growth of the
ecumenical movement, and has been a true leader on many social
issues; and
Whereas, he has left his mark on Columbia and his efforts and
contributions for a better way of life will long be remembered and
are greatly appreciated; and
Whereas, he is leaving this United Methodist district for a new
assignment and the people of Columbia whom he has helped will
miss him very much. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate
concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, commends the Reverend Joseph W. Alley, pastor of
College Place United Methodist Church in Columbia, for his
dedication to his church members and for his contributions to a
better way of life in the Capital City and extends to him best wishes
for happiness and success in his new assignment.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Reverend Alley at 4801 Colonial Drive, Columbia, 29203.
