A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MRS. EDNA BEDENBAUGH OF LEXINGTON UPON HER SELECTION AS THE 1997 MS. SOUTH CAROLINA SENIOR AMERICA AND TO PreviousWISHNext HER THE VERY BEST OF LUCK IN THE MS. USA SENIOR AMERICA NATIONAL COMPETITION TO BE HELD IN SEPTEMBER.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Mrs. Edna Bedenbaugh of Lexington was selected as Ms. South Carolina Senior America of 1997 in the state competition held in Rock Hill; and

Whereas, ladies who are at least sixty years of age are eligible to enter this competition, and Mrs. Bedenbaugh entered the state pageant after being named Ms. Lexington County Senior America; and

Whereas, she is a native of Prosperity, graduated from Columbia College with a major in music, received a masters degree in Library and Information Science form the University of South Carolina, served as librarian of the Lexington Elementary School for twenty-three years, and she is married to Joseph M. Bedenbaugh and is the mother of two children, Linda and Mackie; and

Whereas, this truly elegant and talented lady will serve as an ambassador for the State of South Carolina when she competes for the Ms. USA Senior America crown in the national competition to be held in Biloxi, Mississippi, in September; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate Mrs. Bedenbaugh upon her receipt of this truly deserved title. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Mrs. Edna Bedenbaugh of Lexington upon her selection as the 1997 Ms. South Carolina Senior America and Previouswish her the very best of luck in the Ms. USA Senior America national competition to be held in September.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to

Mrs. Edna Bedenbaugh.
