 REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO MR. AND MRS. SALOMON ARIAS
 OF GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA, UPON THE OCCASION OF THEIR RECENT FIFTIETH
 WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION ON MARCH 31, 2001, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES
 TO THEM AND THEIR FAMILY IN ALL THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

TO OFFER THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO MR. AND MRS. SALOMON ARIAS OF GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA, UPON THE OCCASION OF THEIR RECENT FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION ON MARCH 31, 2001, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO THEM AND THEIR FAMILY IN ALL THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Salomon and Betty Bardon Arias were married on March 31, 1951, in Mariquita, Colombia, South America -- a marriage that reached the half-century mark on March 31, 2001; and

Whereas, the Arias are devoted to each other and have loyally stood together as a model married couple for fifty years; and

Whereas, they are the proud parents of four children: Alvaro, Gloria, Felipe, and Isabel; and the loving grandparents of their grandchildren Salomon, David, Bryan, Hayden, Harlan, Natalie, Isabella, Stewart, and Alexandra; and

Whereas, thirty-three years ago Salomon and Betty left the comfort of their homeland in pursuit of the American dream -- to educate their family and enjoy religious freedom; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Arias have lived an exemplary Christian life for their children and others to follow. Their main purpose is to live their lives to the fullest as true Christians -- to do good, to relieve suffering, and to bring happiness; and

Whereas, this loving couple's contributions to their family, friends, and community have earned them the justifiable affection and respect of all those with whom they have worked or served; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives wish to express their desire that Mr. and Mrs. Salomon Arias celebrate many more wedding anniversaries with their family and friends. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, offer their congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Salomon Arias of Greenville, South Carolina, upon the occasion of their recent Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary on March 31, 2001, and extend best wishes to them and their family in all their future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. and Mrs. Salomon Arias.
