A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE COLONEL GERALD MUSSELMAN OF DORCHESTER COUNTY FOR HIS SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE FROM 1964 TO 1986 AND WISH HIM MUCH HAPPINESS AND GOOD FORTUNE UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE DORCHESTER COUNTY VETERANS AFFAIRS OFFICE.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina applaud Gerald Musselman for his life-long commitment to the United States Armed Forces and the Dorchester County Veterans Affairs Office and express their best wishes to him in all his future endeavors; and
Whereas, Gerald Musselman honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1986 when he retired with the rank of Colonel. Throughout his career, he specialized in communications and was instrumental in improving both the wartime and peacetime Air Force communications throughout the world; and
Whereas, in the Air Force Colonel Musselman traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe while working his way up through the ranks. He held both staff and command positions including the senior staff officer at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium; and
Whereas, Gerald Musselman became the Dorchester County Veterans Affairs Officer in 1993 and has earned an exemplary reputation throughout the State because of his sincere dedication to the veterans and their needs. He has accomplished more for the county than any other officer; and
Whereas, Gerald Musselman has fought tirelessly for the veterans not only in Dorchester County, but in the State as a whole in his efforts to erect memorials and preserve military areas. He also fought to reestablish the observance of Memorial Day and Veterans Day in Dorchester County; and
Whereas, the General Assembly commends Gerald Musselman as he retires from his exceptional service to the Dorchester County Veterans Affairs Office and honors his dedication to the United States Armed Forces. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate Colonel Gerald Musselman of Dorchester County for his service and commitment to the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1986 and wish him much happiness and good fortune upon his retirement from the Dorchester County Veterans Affairs Office.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Colonel Gerald Musselman of Dorchester County, South Carolina.
