A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO MR. WILSON O. SHEALY OF SWANSEA, SOUTH CAROLINA, FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE AS A COMMISSIONER ON THE LEXINGTON COUNTY REGISTRATION AND ELECTIONS COMMISSION AND TO PreviousWISHNext HIM MANY YEARS OF HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Whereas, Mr. Wilson O. Shealy, known affectionately as "W.O.", has proudly served the residents of Lexington County as a Commissioner on the Lexington County Registration and Elections Commission from 1984 until his retirement on January 4, 2001; and

Whereas, Mr. Shealy, in his work as an elections commissioner, helped to ensure the integrity and fairness of the election process, that most cherished process in our great democracy, through which we Americans choose our leaders; and

Whereas, Mr. Wilson O. Shealy has shared his time and talents in a variety of public service endeavors within his community, including his work on the Lexington County Hospital Board of Trustees, of which he was one of the first members; and

Whereas, Mr. Wilson Shealy proudly served his country during his nine years in the United States Navy and has been an active political leader within his community and this State through his work during the 1960's and 1970's as the Chairman of the Lexington County Republican Party; and

Whereas, "W.O." Shealy is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather residing in Swansea, South Carolina, with his wife, Mrs. Edythe L. Shealy, where they are faithful members of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; and

Whereas, Mr. Wilson O. Shealy's hard work and commitment will truly be missed by the residents of Lexington County and the members of the South Carolina General Assembly who extend best PreviouswishesNext for the future to Mr. Shealy and his family upon his retirement as a Commissioner of the Lexington County Registration and Elections Commission; Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, PreviouswishNext to express the gratitude and appreciation of the members of the General Assembly to Mr. Wilson O. Shealy of Swansea, South Carolina, for his many years of dedicated public service as a Commissioner on the Lexington County Registration and Elections Commission and to Previouswish him many years of health and happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Wilson O. Shealy of Swansea, South Carolina.
