 CHINA AND DR. GEORGE WANG OF THE US-CHINA EXCHANGE ASSOCIATION, HERE TO
 ENCOURAGE A LASTING PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN YIBIN CITY AND THE CITY OF COLUMBIA.

TO EXTEND A WARM WELCOME AND BEST WISHES FOR A SUCCESSFUL VISIT IN THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE DELEGATION FROM YIBIN CITY IN CHINA AND DR. GEORGE WANG OF THE US-CHINA EXCHANGE ASSOCIATION, HERE TO ENCOURAGE A LASTING PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN YIBIN CITY AND THE CITY OF COLUMBIA.

Whereas, on June 5, 2007, the City of Columbia will host a delegation from Yibin City in China and Dr. George Wang of the US-China Exchange Association for the purpose of encouraging a lasting partnership between Yibin City and the City of Columbia; and

Whereas, government officials and educators from Yibin City and Columbia will meet to exchange information and promote a sustained relationship between the two cities; and

Whereas, a direct result of visits made by Councilman E.W. Cromartie II to China with the US-China Exchange Association in recent years, the present visit by our friends from Yibin City to Columbia will culminate in the two cities' entering into a Memorandum of Understanding that will stimulate the development of business, educational, and cultural ties; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina wishes to thank the US-China Exchange Association and others who have worked to make this meeting possible, and the members look for enduring benefits to flow to both Yibin City and the City of Columbia for many years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, extend a warm welcome and best wishes for a successful visit in the State of South Carolina to the delegation from Yibin City in China and Dr. George Wang of the US-China Exchange Association, here to encourage a lasting partnership between Yibin City and the City of Columbia.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the delegation from Yibin City in China and Dr. George Wang of the US-China Exchange Association.
