A senate RESOLUTION
TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE MAJOR CHRIS MORGAN UPON
THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE GREENWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT, TO THANK
HIM FOR HIS TWENTY-SIX YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE WITH THE CITY OF GREENWOOD,
AND TO
Whereas, since 1997, the City of Greenwood has enjoyed the benefit of the dedication, experience, and leadership of the Greenwood Police Department's Major Chris Morgan, who will retire from his present post on March 31, 2023, after more than a quarter century of distinguished service; and
Whereas, happy childhood memories of a local trooper led Major Morgan to become a police officer. Also, after serving four years in the Army during the Gulf War, he felt becoming an officer just seemed like the right thing to do. It has been a rewarding profession for him because he has found that you get back what you give. Now that he has reached retirement, the Senate hopes Major Morgan and his wife, Stephanie, soon will find themselves indulging in pleasurably anticipated travel plans to visit Yellowstone and family up North; and
Whereas, grateful for
the legacy of consistent commitment and excellence Major Morgan has bestowed on
this great State, the Senate takes great pleasure in
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the
South Carolina Senate, by this resolution,
honor and congratulate Major Chris Morgan upon the occasion of his retirement
from the Greenwood Police Department, thank him for his twenty-six years of
outstanding service with the City of Greenwood, and
