A SENATE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF E. FORREST PreviousEDWARDSNext, FORMER MAYOR OF JOHNSTON, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, E. Forrest PreviousEdwardsNext, former mayor of Johnston, died on April 18, 1994, at the age of seventy-three; and

Whereas, Mr. PreviousEdwardsNext was a native of Johnston and had retired from Ridge Banking Company; and

Whereas, he was an Army veteran of World War II and served with distinction as mayor of Johnston for twenty-two years; and

Whereas, he was a charter member of the Johnston Junior Chamber of Commerce, president of the Johnston Lions Club, commander of American Legion Post 154, and president of the Georgia-Carolina National Association of Bank Auditors and Comptrollers; and

Whereas, he was also a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Johnston, where he served on the board of deacons; and

Whereas, he was an excellent public servant and an outstanding individual who will be missed greatly. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of E. Forrest PreviousEdwardsNext, former mayor of Johnston, and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. PreviousEdwardsNext' family, in care of his widow, Jewell Clark PreviousEdwards, at 1001 Lee Street, Johnston.
