H. 4120

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MIKE PreviousEDWARDSNext, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF PULP AND PAPER MANUFACTURING FOR DOMTAR, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER A REMARKABLE FIFTY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE IN THE PULP AND PAPER INDUSTRY, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina should pause in their deliberations to express their gratitude to Mike PreviousEdwardsNext for his significant contributions to the pulp and paper industry and to the mills of Domtar; and

Whereas, at the age of fifteen, he began a papermaking apprenticeship at the Wiggins Teape Mill in Aberdeen, Scotland, a mill that is still and has been in operation since the 1760s; and

Whereas, his career in the pulp and paper industry has led him to three countries on two different continents, and since 2007, he has served in Fort Mill at the helm of Domtar's pulp and paper manufacturing operations; and

Whereas, with an unparalleled work ethic, Mr. PreviousEdwardsNext has focused on making the new Domtar a global leader in pulp and paper manufacturing with lean and efficient operations; and

Whereas, equally as passionate about the health and safety of Domtar employees as he is about the quality of the products it produces, he has led the company to world-class safety performance records; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are grateful for the years of dedication that Mike PreviousEdwardsNext has devoted to the mills of Domtar and wish him many years of enjoyment as he celebrates the beginning of his well-earned retirement surrounded by family and friends on May 22, 2013. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Mike PreviousEdwardsNext, Senior Vice President of pulp and paper manufacturing for Domtar, upon the occasion of his retirement after a remarkable fifty years of outstanding service in the pulp and paper industry, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Mike PreviousEdwards.
