A Bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section

AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH
CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 38-73-731 SO AS TO
PROVIDE FOR THE REMOVAL OF PERSONS FROM THE
YOUTHFUL DRIVER CLASSIFICATION UNDER CERTAIN
CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THE PURPOSES OF AUTOMOBILE
INSURANCE, AND PROVIDE FOR THEIR RECLASSIFICATION AND
FOR THE REFUNDING OF EXCESS PREMIUMS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Removal from classification; etc.
SECTION 1. Article 7, Chapter 73, Title 38 of the 1976 Code is amended
by adding:
"Section 38-73-731. When a person in the Youthful Driver
Classification reaches age twenty-five during a policy period, the person
must be removed from the Youthful Driver Classification upon reaching
that age and be reclassified, and, further, the person must be refunded any
excess premium paid."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect October 1, 1993, for renewal business
or new business written on or after that date.
