 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE CAITLYN CARLILE, OF
 SPARTANBURG COUNTY, ON BEING NAMED 2008 SOUTH CAROLINA JUNIOR NATIONAL
 TEENAGER, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE CAITLYN CARLILE, OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY, ON BEING NAMED 2008 SOUTH CAROLINA JUNIOR NATIONAL TEENAGER, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Caitlyn Carlile, of Spartanburg County, was named South Carolina Junior National Teenager at the 2008 America National Teenager Scholarship Organization State Competition; and

Whereas, competitors were judged in six categories, including academic achievement, school and community involvement, interview, and personal expression; and

Whereas, in addition to being the overall winner in the junior division, Caitlyn also received the Citizenship Award for her scholastic achievement, leadership, and volunteerism and a $10,000 scholarship to Eckerd College in Florida. She also won the optional speech and talent competitions in her division; and

Whereas, the fifteen-year-old daughter of Cassidy and Robin Carlile, Caitlyn is a ninth-grade student at Spartanburg Christian Academy and an active member of First Baptist North Spartanburg. Her community service includes projects for Miracle Hill Ministries Shelter in Spartanburg and Carolina Pregnancy Center, as well as participation in the Spartanburg Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society; and

Whereas, the House takes great pleasure in congratulating Caitlyn on being named 2008 South Carolina Junior National Teenager, and the members wish her much success as she represents South Carolina in the national competition, to be held in July in Nashville, Tennessee. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Caitlyn Carlile, of Spartanburg County, on being named 2008 South Carolina Junior National Teenager, and wish her much success in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Caitlyn Carlile.
