A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE INDIAN LAND HIGH SCHOOL LADY
WARRIORS ON THEIR FIRST EVER SOFTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, CAPPED BY A SIX
INNING, 12-2 WIN IN THE FINAL GAME OF THE TITLE SERIES.

06/04/97 House Introduced, adopted, sent to Senate HJ-53
06/04/97 Senate Introduced, adopted, returned with concurrence SJ-83

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE INDIAN LAND HIGH SCHOOL LADY WARRIORS ON THEIR FIRST EVER SOFTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, CAPPED BY A SIX INNING, 12-2 WIN IN THE FINAL GAME OF THE TITLE SERIES.

Whereas, the Indian Land Lady Warriors of York County won their first ever softball state championship this spring with a 12-2 win over Wagener-Salley; and

Whereas, it took the Warriors only six innings to take advantage of the ten-run rule and walk away with the crown in the best-of-three series; and

Whereas, the Warriors struck out nine hittersNext in those six innings and gave up only two Previoushits; and

Whereas, Coach Don Pittman kept his promise of eight years ago to the school that they could bring home a state championship in softball; and

Whereas, he also kept his promise that the team could shave his head when that day happened; and

Whereas, the Lady Warriors' softball title joins the volleyball team's state title of last fall, beginning a tradition at Indian Land High School. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina does hereby congratulate the Indian Land High School Lady Warriors on their first ever softball state championship, capped by a six inning, 12-2 win in the final game of the title series.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Indian Land High School Lady Warriors, in care of softball Coach Don Pittman.
