A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO ANDREW "DREW" DOWLING WOODHAM III, OF RICHLAND COUNTY, UPON ATTAINING THE HIGHEST AND PreviousMOSTNext DISTINGUISHED HONOR A BOY SCOUT MAY RECEIVE.

Whereas, the Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony was held on January 18, 2000, at which time Drew Woodham received his Eagle Scout Award; and

Whereas, this is a superb accomplishment, because some statistics indicate only three out of every two hundred young men achieve this goal; and

Whereas, Drew joined the Methodist Church in Bishopville, South Carolina, at an early age, serving as an acolyte and crucifer at worship services; and

Whereas, Drew's interest in scouting began in 1991, when he joined the Tiger Cub Scout Troop and following his family's move to Columbia, he joined Boy Scout Troop 202 which is sponsored by Spring Valley Presbyterian Church; and

Whereas, Drew, under the capable leadership of his Scout leaders, completed the requirements for Eagle Scout in two years; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew D. Woodham, Jr., are the proud parents of Drew Woodham; and

Whereas, Drew attended Robert E. Lee Academy in Bishopville from the first grade through eighth grade and is presently a freshman at Spring Valley High School; and

Whereas, Drew is an outstanding individual in every way -- eager to learn and willing to accept challenges and refuses to let adversity deter his ambitions; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, are pleased to salute this fine young man and look forward to hearing of his other accomplishments in the years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina express their congratulations to Andrew Dowling Woodham III, of Richland County, upon attaining the Eagle Scout Award, the highest and Previousmost distinguished honor a Boy Scout may receive.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Andrew "Drew" Dowling Woodham III.
