A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND MR. JACK G. HENDRIX, ONE OF LEXINGTON COUNTY'S AND SOUTH CAROLINA'S MOST DISTINGUISHED BUSINESS AND CIVIC LEADERS, FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE ON THE RICHLAND-LEXINGTON AIRPORT COMMISSION SINCE 1982.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have learned with deep regret that Jack G. Hendrix has concluded his service on the Richland-Lexington Airport Commission which began in 1982; and
Whereas, Jack Hendrix is one of the most widely respected business and civic leaders in Lexington County and in South Carolina; and
Whereas, he is a graduate of Lexington High School and the University of South Carolina. He served his country during World War II and the Korean War, and is a retired Lieutenant Commander with the United States Naval Reserve; and
Whereas, he is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of the Lexington County Savings and Loan Association, and also is past chairman of the South Carolina Savings and Loan League, as well as serving on many other industry boards and entities; and
Whereas, Jack Hendrix cares deeply for his community and has demonstrated this commitment as past president of Lexington County Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the board of directors of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, and as President of Lexington County Public Library Association and Lexington Lions Club; and
Whereas, during his tenure with the Richland-Lexington Airport Commission, many significant improvements were made including extended runways, development of a Foreign Trade Zone and the CAE Industrial Park, and construction of a new maintenance facility, new terminal and new office building; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and thank this truly fine man for his outstanding service on the Richland-Lexington Airport Commission since 1982. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly commend Mr. Jack G. Hendrix, one of Lexington County's and South Carolina's most distinguished business and civic leaders, for his outstanding service on the Richland-Lexington Airport Commission since 1982.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Hendrix.
