A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE MR. TIMOTHY WAYNE EVATT OF ANDERSON, SOUTH CAROLINA, FOR HIS PreviousCOURAGENext, STRENGTH, AND FAITH, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH HEALTH AND HAPPINESS IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Whereas, Timothy Wayne Evatt, was born on November 23, 1965, in Anderson, South Carolina to Bennie and June Evatt; and

Whereas, on July 31, 2004, Tim married the former Rhonda Crozier and they have two children, Cierra and Landon; and

Whereas, his PreviouscourageNext and determination to overcome a significant spinal cord injury he sustained in 1986 leaving him a quadriplegic is PreviouscourageousNext. His strength and determination in the recovery process and periodic long term struggles with his health have been a source of inspiration to all that a full and complete life is possible despite many challenges; and

Whereas, post injury, Tim returned to Clemson University to earn his undergraduate degree and then to the University of South Carolina where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1993. Tim also received a Master of Divinity degree from Erskine College and was ordained as a Reverend on May 27, 2012; and

Whereas, Tim served in private practice and later as staff attorney for the South Carolina Department of Social Services from which he retired in January 2011; and

Whereas, Tim also served two terms on the Anderson County Disabilities and Special Needs Board serving as its chairman for one term; and

Whereas, Tim was appointed to the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Board on July 11, 2001, by Governor Jim Hodges and continues to serve today; and

Whereas, his personal faith and service to others goes beyond the call of duty as a citizen. Anderson County and the State of South Carolina are indeed privileged to call Tim Evatt a native son for his personal PreviouscourageNext, leadership, and service to so many. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, honor and recognize Mr. Timothy Wayne Evatt for his Previouscourage, strength, and faith, and to wish him much health and happiness in the years to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Timothy Evatt.
