A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that on May 8, 1991, the State Budget and Control Board announced that Mrs. Patricia Gilmore of its Internal Audit Division had been selected as its 1990 Employee of the Year; and

Whereas, she is a graduate of Dreher High School, attended the University of South Carolina and began her state service with the Department of Highways and Public Transportation and then joined the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education. She began work with the Budget and Control Board in October, 1981, in the Division of Human Resource Management prior to coming to the Internal Audit Division in December, 1983; and

Whereas, she has many varied duties ranging from office management to audit assistance and in 1990 Mrs. Gilmore was particularly effective in automating her office and to do this successfully, she had to work many long hours often through lunch and after 5:00 P.M. so that the staff could have access to the new system quickly; and

Whereas, her commitment to traditional work values goes beyond just her work and is reflected in her personal life also. Married with two childdren, she is active in her church and frequently volunteers to help the less fortunate, collecting clothing and other items for displaced families and orphans; and

Whereas, the professional efficiency and competence with which she does her job together with a great positive attitude reflects well not only on herself and the Board but also upon all state employees of whom she is a tremendous representative; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to congratulate this lovely, truly outstanding lady upon her receipt of this deserved award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby congratulate Mrs. Patricia Gilmore upon being named the State Budget and Control Board's 1990 Employee of the Year.
