AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 8-3-160, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO BONDS FOR COUNTY OFFICERS, SO AS TO PLACE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF INSUFFICIENT BONDS UPON THE COUNTY GOVERNING BODY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Governing body to make examination of sufficiency of county officers' bonds

Section 1. Section 8-3-160 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 8-3-160. The governing body of each county in the State shall make an annual examination into the sufficiency of all the county officers' bonds within their respective counties and take action to correct any deficiencies with regard to any bond which, in its judgment, may be insufficient."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
