A Bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section
50-9-265 so as to exempt a nonresident sixty-five years of age or older from
obtaining a South Carolina hunting and fishing license or permit if his state
or residence extends similar privileges to South Carolina residents sixty-five
years of age or older, and to provide an exception.

A BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976,
BY ADDING SECTION 50-9-265 SO AS TO EXEMPT A
NONRESIDENT SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER FROM
OBTAINING A SOUTH CAROLINA HUNTING AND FISHING
LICENSE OR PERMIT IF HIS STATE OF RESIDENCE EXTENDS
SIMILAR PRIVILEGES TO SOUTH CAROLINA RESIDENTS
SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, AND TO PROVIDE AN
EXCEPTION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 3, Chapter 9, Title 50 of the 1976 Code is
amended by adding:
"Section 50-9-265. No license or permit for hunting and
fishing is required for a nonresident who has attained the age of
sixty-five years if his state of residence allows the same privilege for
South Carolina residents who have attained the age of sixty-five years.
A nonresident hunting or fishing under the provisions of this section
shall carry on his person proof of his age and residency from the state
where he resides. This privilege does not extend to permits to hunt in
Wildlife Management Areas."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
