A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY OF MRS. DORIS B.
MARCHANT OF WEST COLUMBIA UPON HER DEATH.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened
to learn of the death of Mrs. Doris B. Marchant of West Columbia on
Tuesday, February 5, 1991; and
Whereas, Mrs. Marchant was the widow of the late C.B. Marchant, Sr.,
and is survived by her three sons, C. Bryan Marchant, Jr., William M.
"Bill" Marchant, and Larry C. Marchant, all of West
Columbia; and a brother, Jack M. Ballentine of Columbia; and
Whereas, Mrs. Marchant was a native of Blythewood, a graduate of
Anderson College, and a retired kindergarten teacher of the Mount
Hebron United Methodist Church which she also faithfully served as a
member and its organist; and
Whereas, this lovely lady will be deeply missed by her family and many
friends who cared for her so much; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution,
would like to extend their deepest sympathy to the Marchant family in
this time of sorrow. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby express their deepest
sympathy to the family of Mrs. Doris B. Marchant of West Columbia
upon her death.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to her
sons, C. Bryan, Jr., William M. "Bill", and Larry C.
Marchant.
