A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE UNION HIGH SCHOOL YELLOW JACKETS ON WINNING THE CLASS AAAA, DIVISION 2 STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1990.

Whereas, the Yellow Jackets of Union High School defeated the Lancaster High School Bruins 27-26 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia on December 1, 1990, and won the Class AAAA, Division 2 state football championship for 1990; and

Whereas, with the win, Union finished the season with a remarkable 14-1 record and, in the process, captured its first state championship in football; and

Whereas, the team's drive, desire, and outstanding talent helped the Yellow Jackets become state champions; and

Whereas, the team's accomplishments are greatly deserving of commendation. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Union High School Yellow Jackets on winning the Class AAAA, Division 2 state football championship for 1990.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Union High School football team, in care of Head Coach Shell Dula, at Union.
