 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE EASTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL
 WRESTLING TEAM ON A SUPERLATIVE SEASON AND TO SALUTE THESE ATHLETES AND THEIR
 COACHES ON WINNING THE 2016 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE EASTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING TEAM ON A SUPERLATIVE SEASON AND TO SALUTE THESE ATHLETES AND THEIR COACHES ON WINNING THE 2016 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, well prepared for the challenge, the Class AAA Eastside Eagles won their eleventh state championship on February 13, 2016, downing Hilton Head 36-35 at Dreher High School in Columbia; and

Whereas, with jubilant Eagle fans cheering them on, the Eastside grapplers rolled through the tournament and pinned down the 2016 title win. As the Eagles accepted their trophy, supporters began making plans to watch their team do it again next year; and

Whereas, over a successful season, the Eastside team grew increasingly more aware of how to put their talents to use and how to forge winning strategies implemented with a marked determination; and

Whereas, they put their agility, strength, and perseverance to the test in the title match and continued to hold their high position in total title wins. Only one team has more state titles in South Carolina wrestling than Eastside, and one other is tied with the Eagles; and

Whereas, such an impressive performance is not achieved by accident. Coach Jack Kosmicki masterfully molded his close-knit team into championship form, enabling the Eagles to hoist the title trophy once again; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pleasure in recognizing the young athletes of the Eastside High School wrestling team and anticipate with interest learning of their continued praiseworthy achievements. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the members of the Eastside High School wrestling team on a superlative season and salute these athletes and their coaches on winning the 2016 Class AAA State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Mike Thorne and Coach Jack Kosmicki of Eastside High School.
