A Bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section
50-11-2418 so as to prohibit the trapping of gray foxes in Game Zone 7 and
provide penalties; and to amend Section 50-11-1770, relating to the sale and
shipment of live foxes, so as to prohibit the sale and shipment of gray foxes
in Game Zone 7 and provide penalties.

A BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976,
BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-2418 SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE
TRAPPING OF GRAY FOXES IN GAME ZONE 7 AND PROVIDE
PENALTIES; AND TO AMEND SECTION 50-11-1770, RELATING
TO THE SALE AND SHIPMENT OF LIVE FOXES, SO AS TO
PROHIBIT THE SALE AND SHIPMENT OF GRAY FOXES IN
GAME ZONE 7 AND PROVIDE PENALTIES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 50-11-2418. It is unlawful to capture gray foxes by a
trap of any type in Game Zone 7. A person who violates this section,
upon conviction, must be punished as provided in Section 50-11-2560."
SECTION 2. Section 50-11-1770 of the 1976 Code is amended to
read:
"Section 50-11-1770. It is lawful to sell and ship live foxes
within the State, except gray foxes must not be sold or shipped in
Game Zone 7. A person who violates this section, upon
conviction, must be punished as provided in Section 50-11-2560."
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
