A SENATE
RESOLUTION
EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF JAMES
STANFORD "STAN" LOTT OF ROCK HILL AND
EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY
FRIENDS.
Whereas, James Stanford "Stan" Lott of Rock Hill died
March 18, 1996, at the age of sixty; and
Whereas, he was retired from the United States Air Force as a
colonel; he attended The Citadel and received a bachelor's degree
from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania; and he also attended
the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia and the Army
War College; and
Whereas, he was executive director of operations for the Rock Hill
school district, ROTC instructor at Rock Hill High School, a
member of the Rock Hill Kiwanis Club, past president of the Rock
Hill Optimist Club, and an elder of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian
Church; and
Whereas, Stan Lott was an outstanding individual and model citizen
who was widely admired and devoted to his faith, his country, and
his community; and
Whereas, he gave his time, talent, and energy freely and eagerly to
all who needed his assistance, and he will be greatly missed. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution,
expresses sorrow at the death of James Stanford "Stan"
Lott of Rock Hill and extends sympathy to his family and many
friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Mr. Lott's family.
