 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO COMMEND MRS. ANNIE NANNEY FOR HER CONSTANT AND
 DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE STATE UPON HER UPCOMING RETIREMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF
 LEGISLATIVE PRINTING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES.

TO COMMEND MRS. ANNIE NANNEY FOR HER CONSTANT AND DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE STATE UPON HER UPCOMING RETIREMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE PRINTING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES.

Whereas, Mrs. Annie Nanney is retiring from the Office of Legislative Printing and Information Technology Resources after more than twenty-six years of dedicated work in state government; and

Whereas, she has ceaselessly encouraged state employees to become computer literate through arranging all of the training for members and staff of the House of Representatives and Senate; and

Whereas, she has held many positions in state government beginning with the Budget and Control Board in 1972, later serving as administrative assistant to the Director of General Services, and next becoming Director of the Budget and Control Board's Word Processing Center; and

Whereas, in 1976 her dedication and professionalism were recognized when Annie was named Outstanding State Employee; and

Whereas, she joined the Legislative Printing project in 1982, moving the General Assembly from the age of hot-type and carbon paper into the information age; and

Whereas, her co-workers respect her as a loyal and consummate team player, willing to work around the clock and do whatever it takes to get the job done right; and

Whereas, she has maintained the accuracy of bill history and bill text on the network since 1982 and has provided invaluable service to members and staff by performing computer-assisted research in the Code of Laws and pending legislation data bases; and

Whereas, Annie's co-workers say she has been a careful, methodical worker whom they nicknamed "Hawkeye" and who is one of those rare individuals who never fails to catch even the slightest error in the legislative history of a bill; and

Whereas, her friends say she knows more about what's really happening in South Carolina than The State newspaper; and

Whereas, her co-workers will also remember her as the organizer of "grazing days" and as a fine cook who makes the world's best sweet potato casserole and ham delights; and

Whereas, Annie is a devoted wife to her husband Alvis Nanney and is a loving mother to three grown sons, Wayne, Ray and Brian and is also a loving and devoted grandmother; and

Whereas, Annie and Alvis inspired their three sons to graduate from college and pursue successful careers; and

Whereas, Annie is an active member of West Side Baptist Church and her faith has helped overcome life's many obstacles with great courage. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend Annie Nanney for her constant and devoted service to the State of South Carolina and wish her all the happiness in her retirement she richly deserves.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Annie Nanney.
