A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF WILLIAM BARRY HUNTLEY OF AIKEN COUNTY AND EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS LOVING FAMILY AND HIS MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of William Barry Huntley of North Augusta at the age of eighty on February 13, 2020; and

Whereas, in the proud tradition of sons of the Palmetto State, Mr. Huntley served his country with distinction in the United States Navy; and

Whereas, he retired from a career as an air traffic controller, serving last at Bush Field in Augusta, Georgia; and

Whereas, Mr. Huntley attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church, and in his younger years, he enjoyed golf and running and always loved spending time at the lake; and

Whereas, he was married to his beloved wife, Paula F. Huntley, and he was the proud father of two fine daughters, Susan Kitchens and Leigh Huntley, and two fine stepsons, Frank Fortune, Jr., and Bryan Fortune; and

Whereas, Mr. Huntley was blessed with the affection of four loving grandchildren: Lauren Tyler, Haley Fehrenbach, Joshua Fehrenbach, and Adam Kitchens. Four step-grandchildren added to his blessings: Tynan Fortune, Annabelle Fortune, Jack Fortune, and Cate Fortune; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the life and legacy of William Barry Huntley and for the example of kindness and service he set for all who knew him. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of William Barry Huntley of Aiken County and extend their deepest sympathy to his loving family and his many friends.
