A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND BOBBY BROCK OF SIMPSONVILLE UPON HIS RECEIPT OF A NATIONAL OUTSTANDING SCHOOL VOLUNTEER AWARD FROM THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PARTNERS IN EDUCATION FOR HIS VOLUNTEER WORK WITH THE BAKER'S CHAPEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Bobby Brock of Simpsonville has received a national Outstanding School Volunteer Award from the National Association of Partners in Education for his volunteer work with the Baker's Chapel Elementary School; and

Whereas, he is president of the PTA at Baker's Chapel and spends about six hours working with students in the school's computer lab three days a week along with the time it takes him to run errands for teachers and organize other school projects; and

Whereas, Bobby Brock is able to be such an integral part of the Baker's Chapel School because he adjusted his work schedule with his Simpsonville employer so that he could be home with his children during the day and also devote time to Baker's Chapel; and

Whereas, he is instilling in his students such a love of computers and their applications that some of his students would now rather work in the computer lab with him than go to recess; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and commend this unselfish, public-spirited man for being such an important role model for young children and for his receipt of this truly deserved award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby commend Bobby Brock of Simpsonville upon his receipt of a National Outstanding School Volunteer Award from the National Association of Partners in Education for his volunteer work with the Baker's Chapel Elementary School.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Brock.
