A BILL
TO AMEND ACT 1093 OF 1966, RELATING TO THE CREATION
OF THE GOOSE CREEK PARK AND PLAYGROUND
COMMISSION LOCATED IN BERKELEY COUNTY, SO AS TO
PROVIDE THAT THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE COMMISSION
MUST BE APPROVED BY A MAJORITY OF THE GOVERNING
BODY OF BERKELEY COUNTY INSTEAD OF THE BERKELEY
COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 4 of Act 1093 of 1966 is amended to read:
"Section 4. The commission may lay out, create, develop,
and enlarge the system of parks and playgrounds for the use and
benefit of the residents, inhabitants and institutions within its
jurisdictional area. It shall have has charge of all
parks and playgrounds within the area. The commission may spend
such monies as it may deem consider necessary to
carry out the activities of the Goose Creek Park and
Playground;. provided, that an An
annual budget showing details of anticipated expenditures shall
must be approved by a majority of the county legislative
delegation governing body of Berkeley County prior to
disbursement of any of such funds."
SECTION 2. This section is effective beginning with the 1994-1995 budget of the Goose Creek Park and Playground Commission.
