 School upon receiving the Prudential Spirit of Community Award.

A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE AMY HIGHTOWER OF BAMBERG-ERHARDT HIGH SCHOOL UPON RECEIVING THE PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARD.

Whereas, Amy Hightower is a student of Bamberg-Erhardt High School and the recipient of the Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and

Whereas, the Prudential Spirit of Community Award seeks to recognize outstanding self-initiated community service by America's youth; and

Whereas, Amy Hightower selflessly spends four to eight hours on school days and eight to twelve hours a day on weekends assisting staff and residents at the local nursing home; and

Whereas, Amy Hightower embodies an altruistic spirit, kindness of heart, and compassion for her fellow man; and

Whereas, Amy Hightower's tireless dedication to the senior citizens of her community provides a positive role model and example of community service for all of her peers to emulate; and

Whereas, this fine young South Carolinian is a credit to her community, school, and the State of South Carolina through her community service activities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate wish to extend its congratulations to Amy Hightower upon receiving the Prudential Spirit of Community Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Hightower.
