A Concurrent Resolution to commend and congratulate Lawrie H. Harmon, Office
of the Governor, Division of Veterans Affairs, Field Office Supervisor at the
Dorn Veterans Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina, who has provided outstanding
service to veterans and beneficiaries of veterans in his service area and the
State of South Carolina and to thank him for the many contributions he has
made in this capacity which he has held for the past twenty-one and one-half
years.

RESOLUTION
TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE LAWRIE H.
HARMON, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, DIVISION OF
VETERANS AFFAIRS, FIELD OFFICE SUPERVISOR AT THE
DORN VETERANS HOSPITAL, COLUMBIA, SOUTH
CAROLINA, WHO HAS PROVIDED OUTSTANDING SERVICE
TO VETERANS AND BENEFICIARIES OF VETERANS IN HIS
SERVICE AREA AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
AND TO THANK HIM FOR THE MANY CONTRIBUTIONS HE
HAS MADE IN THIS CAPACITY WHICH HE HAS HELD FOR
THE PAST TWENTY-ONE AND ONE-HALF YEARS.
Whereas, Lawrie H. Harmon, of Columbia, South Carolina, has
recently retired from his position as Field Office Supervisor at the
Dorn Veterans Hospital after twenty-one and one-half years of
faithful service; and
Whereas, Mr. Harmon began his work with the Office of the
Governor immediately following twenty plus years with the United
States Air Force in the capacity as Master Sergeant serving as a
Flight Engineer; and
Whereas, Mr. Harmon, during his tenure as Field Office Supervisor
at the Dorn Veterans Hospital, established a reputation of working
diligently with and for veterans, their beneficiaries, and any other
persons who needed his assistance; and
Whereas, Mr. Harmon's work is a great and lasting contribution to
the Dorn Veterans Hospital, the veterans of this State, and the State
of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Mr. Harmon, after a successful career with the Office of
the Governor, will now have more time to spend with his lovely
wife, children, and grandchildren; and
Whereas, the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by
this resolution, would like to publicly recognize, commend, and
congratulate this truly fine, compassionate man and outstanding
South Carolinian. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives
concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this
resolution, commends and congratulates Lawrie H. Harmon of
Columbia, South Carolina for his many years of exemplary service.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Mr. Lawrie H. Harmon.
