OLDEST LIVING HEIR OF HIS FAMILY, ON THE OCCASION OF HIS SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY
AND TO SALUTE HIM FOR A LIFETIME OF GENEROSITY TO HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND
COMMUNITY.

A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE MR. EDDIE WILLIAMS OF
BRANCHVILLE, THE OLDEST LIVING HEIR OF HIS FAMILY,
ON THE OCCASION OF HIS SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY AND
TO SALUTE HIM FOR A LIFETIME OF GENEROSITY TO HIS
FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND COMMUNITY.
Whereas, Eddie Williams was born on April 20, 1928, in Columbia,
South Carolina, and after living in New York for a period of time
returned home to Branchville where he worked in the public school
system until his retirement in 1983; and
Whereas, he was educated in the public schools of Branchville, he
served in the merchant marines for eight years which enabled him to
travel around the world visiting many countries, and is also a United
States Army veteran who served honorably in Korea; and
Whereas, after Mr. Williams' retirement, he became a born-again
Christian. He is a devout member of Canaan Baptist Church, and
spends his spare time visiting the sick in nursing homes and hospitals
where he prays with them for their recovery. He is a faithful
husband, a devoted father, an enduring grandfather, and an
understanding brother; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this
resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate him on
the occasion of his seventieth birthday and salute him for his lifetime
of generosity to his family, friends, and neighbors who have been
empowered by his spiritual guidance and loving kindness. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives hereby
congratulate Mr. Eddie Williams of Branchville, the oldest living heir
of his family, on the occasion of his seventieth birthday and to salute
him for a lifetime of generosity to his family, friends, and
community.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Mr. Eddie Williams.
