 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND J. C. CLIFTON OF HAMPTON COUNTY
 FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO HIS COMMUNITY AND TO THE STATE OF SOUTH
 CAROLINA, AND TO WISH HIM THE BEST IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS AS HE CONTINUES
 TO WORK FOR THE BENEFIT OF HIS FELLOW MAN.

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND J. C. CLIFTON OF HAMPTON COUNTY FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO HIS COMMUNITY AND TO THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO WISH HIM THE BEST IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS AS HE CONTINUES TO WORK FOR THE BENEFIT OF HIS FELLOW MAN.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina House of Representatives honors those individuals who give tirelessly of themselves to the great benefit of their communities, making lasting contributions to the lives of their neighbors, friends, and fellow South Carolinians; and

Whereas, extraordinarily active in his Hampton County community, Mr. Clifton has taken on leadership roles in numerous organizations, including the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pro Hampton County, the Watermelon Festival, Varnville Old Town Days, and the Hampton County Chamber of Commerce, among many others; and

Whereas, an integral part of improving Lake Warren Park, Mr. Clifton devoted countless hours of time and energy to the Friends of the Park program. He oversaw the placement of a flagpole on the grounds and also worked with the Veterans of Foreign Wars in funding and developing the All Wars Memorial located on the courthouse grounds in Hampton; and

Whereas, sensitive to the needs of neglected animals within his community, Mr. Clifton acts as the Animal Control Officer for Hampton County in a volunteer capacity. In fact, he was instrumental in the building of the Community Animal Shelter of Hampton County; and

Whereas, selfless giving is nothing new for Mr. Clifton, as he bravely served our country in the Korean Conflict; and

Whereas, while many retirees spend their retirement days enjoying a much deserved rest, Mr. Clifton remains active and is devoted to serving others, expecting nothing in return; and

Whereas, Hampton County and South Carolina as a whole are fortunate to have such a wonderful and giving citizen as Mr. J. C. Clifton who is willing to give so unselfishly of his time, talents, and energy doing whatever it takes in service of his community and this great State. Mr. Clifton is certainly a role model for all South Carolinians. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend J. C. Clifton of Hampton County for his outstanding service to his community and to the State of South Carolina, and wish him the best in all his future endeavors as he continues to work for the benefit of his fellow man.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. J. C. Clifton of Hampton County.
