South Carolina Legislature

Legislative Oversight Committee
Message from Chairman
Jeffrey E. "Jeff" Johnson
District 58, Horry County
As Chair of the Legislative Oversight Committee and on behalf of my fellow members, I would like to welcome you to the committee’s webpage.

The Legislative Oversight Committee, created in December 2014, is a vehicle for oversight used by the House of Representatives. The Committee’s specific task is to conduct legislative oversight studies and investigations of state agencies at least once every seven years to ensure state laws and programs are being carried out in accordance with the intent of the General Assembly and to determine whether those programs should continue in their current form.

Public input is the cornerstone of the oversight process. Share your concerns with the Committee online, by email, over the phone, or in person and help the Legislative Oversight Committee improve state government for all South Carolinians.
