A Concurrent Resolution to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the death of Joseph Hayne Rainey of Georgetown which will occur August 1, 1987; to recognize the fact that he was the first Black to sit in the United States House of Representatives; and that the South Carolina Department of Archives and History formulate plans in conjunction with the citizens of Bermuda for a special commemoration of the life of this great American.
