A Bill to amend Sections 20-1-510 and 20-1-540, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the jurisdiction to determine the validity of marriage and adjudication of presumed death of a spouse, so as to provide that the family court has exclusive jurisdiction, instead of the court of common pleas, to hear and determine any issue affecting the validity of a contract of marriage and in actions to determine a spouse's presumed death after an absence of seven years.
