    A Bill to amend Chapter 5, Title 23, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the Highway Patrol, so as to provide for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to supervise the Patrol directly; to amend Section 23-3-30, relating to the supervision of state-employed security personnel by SLED, so as to include the personnel of the Highway Patrol; and to amend the 1976 Code by adding Section 23-3-70 so as to provide that SLED is composed of two subdivisions, namely a subdivision of investigation and a subdivision of law enforcement, and provide that the Highway Patrol constitutes a permanent part of the subdivision of law enforcement.
