Summary: Naming public buildings and highways after state officers
A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 10-1-210 SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE NAMING OF A BUILDING, PART OF A BUILDING, OR PART OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM FOR A STATE OFFICER UNLESS THE PERSON TO BE HONORED HAS NOT OCCUPIED A STATE OFFICE FOR AT LEAST FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS BEFORE THE TIME OF THE NAMING AND TO PROVIDE APPLICABLE DEFINITIONS.
